The Call of The Eagle

Join me on an unforgettable adventure through epic landscapes where wild animals roam freely and nature invites both peace and challenge. This journey is designed to help you reconnect with what truly matters. Test yourself against the elements, walk with intention, and experience transformative medicine in the heart of the mountains.

This pilgrimage is for those standing at the threshold of change. Maybe you sense that something new is calling you, or you are at a crossroads and uncertain which direction to take. Or maybe life has grown comfortable and predictable and you want to challenge yourself.

This is not an easy quest. The terrain is demanding, and both preparation and a good level of fitness are required. You should have prior experience with plant medicines and the capacity to hold and process deep emotional work. This journey is intended for experienced travellers and explorers of both the inner and outer landscapes.

We will walk ancestral paths and traditional trade routes, encountering breathtaking nature, ancient caves, and powerful mountains. Along the way, we may sleep in tents, DNT self-service cabins, and my family’s mountain cabins. All this depends on the group’s needs and the blessings of the weather gods.

Throughout the week, we will share stories from Norse mythology and rune lore, tales of Viking kings, and ancestral legends both ancient and modern. We will explore local plants, fish in mountain lakes and drink from clear streams. If we are lucky we may catch glimpses of moose, deer, eagles, trolls and giants, and many other creatures of the wild mountains.

  • We gather in Stavanger and drive to my family’s farmhouse in the mountains. Here we’ll set our intentions, get to know one another, and begin our mental and physical preparation for the days ahead.

  • Our pilgrimage begins. We’ll visit an ancient cave for the opening ceremony before leaving the comfort of the village behind. That evening, we stay at my family’s mountain cabin, surrounded by breathtaking views and a waterfall perfect for swimming and drinking from.

    Walking Distance: 9 km

  • Today we cross the last road for several days and step fully into the wild heart of the Frafjordheiane mountains. We’ll deepen our intentions and work with Grandfather Medicine, opening ourselves to the teachings of the land.
We’ll spend the night either in an open tourist cabin, in tents, or at my family’s hunting cabin.

    Walking Distance: 12–15 km

  • The quest continues with further rounds of medicine as we visit another ancient cave and wander through the stunning Frafjordheiane landscape reserve.
We’ll end the day at a mountain cabin, where you can choose between camping under the stars or sleeping in a warm bed.

    Walking Distance: 10 km

  • This is our most demanding day, depending on the will of the weather gods. River crossings can be challenging when the valleys flood, but the reward is a deeper connection with both nature and ourselves.

    Walking Distance: 14.2 km

  • Our pilgrimage completes at Mån Waterfall. This is one of the region’s most majestic falls, surrounded by farmland with over 800 years of living history.
Here we gather for our closing ceremony, integrating the lessons and transformations of the journey.
Afterward, we return to sea level, to release and renew ourselves in a sauna by the fjord. A final cleansing before re-entering the world.
